Friday Night: Lust Luck Liquor & Burn, and Dough

After a pretty long week, me and the fiancé decided to head out last night for a couple of cheeky drinks and a generous serving of pizza. I figured that I might as well share our experience with you on my blog - although be warned, the photographs of me are hardly what I would describe as flattering.

We hopped on a tram into town before we realised that we had a bit of time to kill before we could turn up at the restaurant; our reservation was at 8pm and it was packed inside (we had a peek through the window). However, as it is just across the road, we decided to go to Lust Luck Liquor & Burn for a couple of drinks first. OH, HOW I AM GLAD WE DID! Excuse my shouting.

Now if you haven't been there before, I urge you to try absolutely anything on the food menu - it is spicy, flavoursome and totally divine. However we were there for an alternative purpose, so I asked the barman if I could peruse the cocktail menu - he of course obliged. Unfortunately I can not direct you to it online as the website says the menu is coming soon, but I got a bourbon based drink with a peachy kick. "Yum" sums it up pretty well.

Anyway, the time ticked along and before we knew it 8pm had arrived: time to navigate the Northern Quarter cobbles in my high heeled boots and enter Dough for our reservation. When we arrived I was very pleased to find that my request for a corner table was met by the staff (I left a note about it when I made my reservation online). We were served by Marina who was friendly and helpful throughout the evening (thanks Marina!).

I ordered a Peach Bellini and a Pulled Pork pizza, although it is very hard to choose as the menu is so strangely awesome! But that isn't unexpected as Dough say they have been striving to push the boundaries with their creative pizzas since opening five years ago. For a bit of context, my choice is described online as: "Torn pieces of our in house marinated slow cooked pork, with white onions finished with apple pieces drizzled in pork marinade."

So here I am tucking in to my pizza. I tweeted one of the pictures below last night and Dough should be respected for their good-natured reply. I love when companies get their social media right!

My crazy eating habits aside, my fiancé had the Americana pizza which looked equally delicious; to be honest I would probably try every single pizza on the menu if I had the chance. If you are looking for a place to eat pizza in Manchester, you should definitely try Dough if you like thin bases and an eclectic range of toppings.

Here is how our food and drink totted up at the end of the evening... £26.90 is pretty reasonable for a Friday meal out in my opinion!

Have you been to Dough before? If so, what did you have on the menu? I need suggestions for next time! :) xx

  1. Where are these places? I do like to go to Manchester for a night out so it'd be nice to find some new places to try!

    1. They are just in the Northern Quarter near the Arndale, so closest to Market Street or Shudehill tram stops. There are quite a few bars and restaurants around there :) xx
